( Lost & Rarely made Traditional Whole Wheat Snack From Maharashtra)
A meal in itself, which is a truly traditional recipe that is slowly becoming a lost recipe. It is versatile and a  healthy option for lunch, dinner , breakfast or even a snack. A really earthy dish with flavour of rural areas. I remember our Childhood  days when the aroma of roasted wheat flour filled each corner of the house and we knew a tasty treat was on its way.
It’s a very Healthy, quick, Simple dish to make. This is a great option for one pot meal. It saves time & a lot of effort!!


Recipe
Whole wheat Flour (coarsely grinded) – 2 cup

Oil – 4 tbsp

Peanuts – 1/4 cup

Onion – 2 medium

Green chilies – 2 to 3

Methi dana(fenugreek seeds) – 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves – 10 to 12

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp

Chopped Coriander  – 2 tbsp

Fresh grated coconut – 1 tbsp

Salt to taste.


 Method:
Finely chop Onion and Green chilies. 

Put pan on heat add 2 tbsp of oil.

 Now add whole wheat flour to it.

 Roast it on slow flame till its color changes to light golden color.

 Remove it from pan in a bowl.

 Then add 2 tbsp of oil in pan.

Then add mustard seeds, curry leaves,methi dana, peanuts,chopped onion and green chilli to it. Stir fry it till its color changes to light brown.

Then add Roasted flour to it. 

Add salt to taste. 

Then add water to it and mix well so that no lumps should form. Cover the pan with lid and allow it to cook for next 10 to 15 mins.

Then add fresh chopped coriander and grated coconut to it. 

Serve hot with dahi(curd) or pickle.
